LM-Net Newbies Survival Tips
www.eduref.org/lm_net/newbies.htm
Every summer LM_NET receives, from librarians who have just been hired for their first libray job, questions like: OK, I've got the Job, Now what do I do? Over the years there have been some excellent answers, below is a sampling of what can be found in the LM_NET archives. (http://www.eduref.org/lm_net/archive/). Using these search terms: "new librarian", newbies, and survival. "New librarian" returns more than 600 hits but, this site only examined the first 100 since they are ranked by relevance. Survival returns both librarian survival advice and wilderness survival books, but the list is not too long.

Curriki
www.curriki.org/
Curriki is a collaborative project bringing educators together to share curricula with one another. Teachers use the site, which is unsurprisingly wiki-based, to share educator resources such as lesson plans, handouts, templates, and study guides. Though it takes some getting used to, Curriki is a great resource for teachers who need ideas for classroom activities.

LibraryScienceDegree.org
librarysciencedegree.org/#PA
Library Science Degree is the only non profit website dedicated to providing unbiased and straightforward information for students interested in obtaining a library science degree. It is my belief that this rewarding field often goes unconsidered for young people considering their career options, and as someone who has for years answered the question ?how do I become a librarian?, I know that there is a strong need for unbiased, accessible and reliable information about this field.
